Meghalaya CM sends resignation to Sonia

Shillong/New Delhi: Meghalaya Chief Minister DD Lapang on Sunday submitted his resignation to Congress president Sonia Gandhi to end a lingering political crisis in the state, a party leader said.

"The party president has accepted the resignation," the leader told IANS on telephone from New Delhi. State Congress legislators will meet in Shillong on Monday to elect a new leader.
