Mangalore: Just two days before the Lok Sabha results, sitting BJP MP from Dakshina Kannada and its candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel has been charged with having an 'illicit' affair with the wife of a Mumbai based businessman. The Mangalore City police have registered an FIR against Kateel at Bandar police station on Tuesday.
A Mumbai based businessman Satish Shetty has complained that Kateel had visited his house during the 2009 Lok Sabha election campaign and created a rift in their married life. He also claimed that the BJP MP's aides have threatened him and even warned that they would kill him, if he made it public.
Reacting to the complaint against him Nailn Kumar Kateel said that he did not even know the complainant. Karnataka state BJP president Prahlad Joshi has defended the MP saying that it is a political conspiracy to ruin its MP's career.
