37. Lawngtlai West is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Mizoram and is part of Mizoram Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Lawngtlai West falls in Lawngtlai district and South region of Mizoram. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 26,126 voters in the seat, which includes 13,128 male voters, and 12,998 female voters. In the 2018 Mizoram elections, Lawngtlai West recorded a voter turnout of 81.99%. In 2013 the turnout was 85.02%, and in 2008 it was 84.7%.
In 2013, C Ngunlianchunga of INC won the seat by a margin of 1,535 votes (7.84%). C Ngunlianchunga secured 52.72% of the total votes polled.
MNF won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 800 votes (4.73%), registering 35.97% of the total votes polled.
