New Delhi: The Coal Ministry has handed over files on allocation of coal blocks to the Central Bureau of Investigation. But national daily 'The Hindu' has reported that key files are still missing.
'The Hindu' has reported that files on meetings on mega projects given to corporate giants like Reliance Power and Tata Sponge and Iron remain untraceable. Also missing are minutes of the screening committee's meeting, which finalised coal block allocations.
The Supreme Court had directed the coal ministry to hand over missing documents in the case to the CBI. The CBI had claimed that over 50 important files in the case were missing.
The report in 'The Hindu' comes as the coal scam hearing continues in the Supreme Court on Wednesday. The Attorney General will be answering questions related to coal block allotments.
