Delhi: Ahead of Delhi assembly elections, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi and Aam Aadmi Party founding member are likely to join Bhartiya Janata Party on Thursday.

Both Kiran Bedi and Shazia Ilmi along with Arving Kejriwal were associated with Anna Hazare's anti corruption movement. Kejriwal former the AAP after Hazare's movement came to an end.

BJP is expected to use Kirab Bedi and Shazia Ilmi for downplaying Kejriwal's anti-corruption stance in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

Speculation was rife about Kiran Bedi joining politics after she tweeted, "I no more rule out entering Indian political service on capability basis. I am moving towards some flexibility in this." last year.

Bedi has been all praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past one year. "Feel as if the country was orphaned past several years. It finally has a guardian who is caring and capable! We can now focus on creativity," she had tweeted after 2014 Lok Sabha election results were declared on May 16.

Shazia Ilmi will be campaigning for BJP in upcoming Delhi assembly polls.

Just a few days after the Lok Sabha election results, in which AAP had failed to make much impact in large parts of India, she had resigned from the party alleging lack of internal democracy.

She had lost 2013 Delhi elections contesting from RK Puram seat by 326 votes against BJP candidate Anil Kumar Sharma.
