DDCA probe: Centre counters Gopal Subramanium's letter to NSA, says not right to seek personnel

New Delhi: In a latest development in Delhi & District Cricket Association(DDCA) probe, the government has countered Former Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium's letter to National Security Advisor(NSA) Ajit Doval.

According to sources, the government is saying that the NSA is not the right government channel for personnel demand.

Subramanium has written to the NSA demanding five senior officers of the central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), five officers of the Intelligence Bureau along with officers of the Delhi Police for conducting the probe.

On being asked why he has approached the NSA and not the Home Ministry, Subramanium said that Ajit Doval has himself been a distinguished police officer and has worked on several cases. He also added that since Doval has headed many operations, he has an idea of about the calibre of the officers.

He also said that the case may involve national security issues and that the state government is duty bound to probe corruption allegations.

Former Solicitor General has accepted Delhi Government's request to head a Commission of Inquiry into affairs of DDCA. There has been a flaming war between the ruling Aam Aadmi party (AAP) and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the alleged irregularities in DDCA under his 13-year-old tenure as the cricket body's chief.
