Tejpal Singh Nagar of BJP has won Dadri seat.
The main candidates from Dadri are Satveer Singh Gujjar (BSP), Samir Bhati (INC), Ravindra Singh Bhati (RLD) and Nawab Singh Nagar (BJP).
Dadri is Gujjar-dominated constituency. Here fight is between Satveer Singh Gujjar (Bahujan Samaj Party), two-time MLA from Dadri and Bharatiya Janata Party's Tejpal Singh Nagar. The party which won Dadri most number of times: Congress won four times; Bharatiya Janata Party and Bahujan Samaj Party twice each, Samajwadi Party never since 1957.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) defeated Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in the 2012 Assembly elections. Satveer Singh Gurjar, the winning Bahujan Samaj Party candidate, got 81,137 votes. The nearest contender was Nawab Singh Nagar of BJP who got 43,840 votes.
The ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh had in 2012 won 224 seats spread across 75 districts. It has tied-up with Congress this time in the contest against Bharatiya Janata Party and Bahujan Samaj Party.
Elections to 403 seats of Uttar Pradesh were held over 7 phases from February 4 to March 8.
Exit polls had predicted the BJP emerging first in Uttar Pradesh with the Samajwadi Party- Congress alliance emerging second and Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party emerging a distant third.
