New Delhi: The ruling Congress in Uttarakhand on Thursday cracked the whip on all those members who were working against the party's interests.

In what came as a rather strict action, the Congress expelled 30 rebels for six years for standing against official party candidates in the coming Assembly elections.

Among those expelled for misconduct include Umesh Sharma alias Kau Pradhan, Manish Nagpal, Vivekanand Khanduri, Ramsukh, Yashpal Benam, Bharat Chowdhary, Puran Singh Dangwal and Gagan Singh Rajwar.

The Congress also directed its district and city committees to take immediate action against other such offenders.
