New Delhi: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal has been allocated the Water Resources portfolio, a Rashtrapathi Bhavan communiqué said in the Capital on Sunday.
The Water Resources portfolio was held by Meira Kumar till she resigned from the Union Council of Ministers to become Speaker of the Lok Sabha. She was elected the Speaker on June 3.
The press communiqué said Bansal, a minister of the Cabinet rank, would hold the portfolios of Parliamentary Affairs and also Water Resources.
President Pratibha Patil, as advised by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, also changed the portfolios of Ministers of State Pratik Prakashbabu Patil and Arun Yadav.
Pratik, who is now holding charge of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, has been given the portfolio of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Likewise, Yadav, who is now holding charge of Youth Affairs and Sports, has been allocated the portfolio of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
