New Delhi: In a shot in the arm to the Third Front, BSP will participate in its rally in Bangalore on Thursday.
JDS chief H D Deve Gowda spoke to BSP supremo Mayawati and invited her to participate in the campaign launch of the front, JDS spokesman Tanish Ali told PTI from Bangalore.
He said Mayawati has agreed to send senior party leader Satish Chandra Mishra to Bangalore on Thursday.
The Third Front is an amalgamation of CPI, CPI-M, Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Telugu Desam, AIADMK, Forward Bloc and RSP, besides founding member JDS.
Gowda had claimed on Wednesday that BJD led by Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, which had broken its ties with BJP, had agreed to join the Front. However, BJD had made it clear that it has not made up its mind on the issue.
The JDS chief, who is playing a key role in cobbling up the third front, had said that BJD would not take part in the rally.
