Lucknow: BJP leader Ananth Kumar on Wednesday sought an explanation from Congress for referring to Babri mosque in its manifesto for Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
"I would like to ask whether Congress party and its government accept the judgement of the High Court on the issue or not," Kumar told reporters in Lucknow.
He said the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court had given a verdict on Ayodhya title suit and it was a unanimous decision.
"If Congress accepts the verdict then there is no mention of Ram Janmbhoomi in the manifesto even once. It has been repeatedly said Babri mosque," he said.
"This is not only an attack on the sentiments of Hindus, but on the judiciary as well," he remarked. The BJP leader said his party has serious objections and demanded that Congress should clarify its position on the issue.
On the Supreme Court's latest observations in the 2G spectrum case, Kumar said, "I would like to ask can there be a PMO without PM. I would like to ask Manmohan Singh how can there be a PMO without PM presiding over it."
He also asked SP and BSP to assure people that they would not forge any post-poll alliance with Congress.
