Shadab And Nawaz Should Not Play Together For Pakistan, Mir Should Come In, Says Former Pakistan Pacer Wahab Riaz
In response to the lack of bowling threats in the middle overs especially, former Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz lashed out on the squad and their pressing need to find wicket-takers in the middle overs.

A clash of titans, that went south for Pakistan in the most unimaginable way. A collapse in all sense of the word, as India just swept through the Pakistan ranks, beating them by 7 wickets, after the side put together a measly 192 as the target to be chased.

Batting woes were one side of the issue to be addressed, yet another side of the equation lies in the ease with which India picked apart the Pakistan bowling order. India breezed to the target within 31 overs as the likes of Rohit Sharma put on a show for the world to display, thrashing Pakistani bowlers to score a quickfire 86 runs off 63 balls.

In response to the lack of bowling threats in the middle overs especially, former Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz lashed out on the squad and their pressing need to find wicket-takers in the middle overs.

“Shadab and Nawaz should not play together for Pakistan. I would rather have Usama Mir in place of either of those two. Pakistan have been obsessed with all-rounders, but we haven’t been able to understand who our strike bowler is if pacers don’t deliver. You need to have bowlers who give you wickets,” Wahab was quoted as saying on PAK Skills.

Riaz was clear about one thing: the need to bowl the opposition out trumps over anything else. With Pakistan playing out a World Cup in a space with excellent batting pitches, there exists a dire need to know how to out-play the skilled batsmen of the game at this stage, if one aims to lift the coveted trophy.

“If you have to win the World Cup in India, you have to bowl the opposition out. And we have not done that apart from the Netherlands. This is where we have to understand that other teams will take us for granted. Scores will be around 300 to 350, but you can think of restricting the opposition if you pick up wickets,” he added.
