Was alleged Canadian Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar killed by Pakistan’s spy agency ISI? Indian government sources told CNN-News18 that getting in close proximity to Nijjar was impossible without someone known to him.

The sources said that ISI may have wanted to eliminate Nijjar to put India on the back foot.

According to them, Rahat Rao and Tariq Kiyani are two ISI plants in Canada who are doing the most work for the Pakistani agency.

They are allegedly even handling the terrorists who are coming from India and are on the wanted list.

According to the sources, due to possible business reasons and to get more cuts from new people, Rao and Kiyani may have been involved in the task of killing Nijjar.

The sources also said that getting in close proximity to Nijjar would have been impossible for any unknown person because he was very cautious and guarded.

There are many former ISI officials staying in Nijjar’s neighbournood, from Major Generals to Hawaldars, said the sources.

This task to finish Nijjar may have been given to one of these people so that the local drug business could be directly controlled by Rao and Kiyani, they added.

Nijjar was becoming powerful with time and gaining popularity in the local Canadian community also, said the sources.

According to them, the trio of Rao, Kiyani, and separatist leader Gurcharan Punnun was possibly involved in this operation to control the drug and immigration business, which is the main source of income for them.

Nijjar’s proximity and ties with Pakistan-based group leaders like Wadhawa Singh and Ranjeet Singh Neeta were also a problem for ISI because these people were unable to carry out major tasks, said sources.

Young operatives like ‘Happy PhD’ were killed in major crackdowns in Pakistan’s Punjab province, they added.

So, possibly to restructure all businesses, they made Nijjar the first target, said the sources.
