Ananya Singh, a native of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in her very first attempt in 2019. The 22-year-old who cleared one of the most difficult all India competitive exams said that a proper timetable is a key to the preparation for the UPSC Civil Services Exam (CSE).
Ananya appeared for the UPSC CSE in the year 2019 and secured an All India Rank of 51. She said that she had prepared very well for the exam, however, did not expect to secure such a good rank on the very first attempt.

Talking about her preparation strategy, she said that there should be an equal distribution of time given to each subject. The timetable can also help improve the candidate’s strengths and weaknesses. IAS officer Ananya Singh says that she believes that the candidates must refer to the examination paper of previous years. The questions get repeated in some subjects and the candidates should always give priority to improving the introduction, body, conclusion formula in the answers, she said.
Ananya aspired to be an IAS officer since her childhood. She started preparing for the UPSC exam when she was in the last year of her graduation.

Meanwhile, UPSC has already released the result of the prelims exam 2021 on October 29. The mains exam will be held from January 7 to 16 next year. The commission is expected to release the Detailed Application Form (DAF) today for the civil services mains exam on the official website at upsc.gov.in.
Those who have cleared for the prelims can register themselves in the DAF to appear for the mains. This year, about 10 lakh candidates registered for UPSC CSE prelims and a total of 712 vacancies have been notified across various central government departments this time.
