India will look to make use of the T20 matches to better prepare for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which is jointly hosted by the West Indies and the United States.
Afghanistan has had a stellar campaign in the 2023 ODI World Cup where the side managed to finish at sixth spot in the league table while registering wins over top sides like England, Pakistan Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. They missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals by just two points as New Zealand got an extra win to send them through to the knockouts.
Afghanistan also will look to prepare themselves well by going up against a top side like India eyeing the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup as well. With several players having played for IPL sides, they are expected to rack up performances to get some momentum ahead of the big tournament.
Meanwhile, India will get started with the five-match T20I series against Australia which starts off from November 23, 2023. Suryakumar Yadav has been announced as the captain of the side marking his first stint of captaincy for the Indian team.
