Deepti Sharma’s UP Warriorz were one of the three sides to make it to the playoffs in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023, finishing 3rd on the points tally with 8 points. But a 72-run defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals in the Eliminator ended their journey in the tournament.
Just like defending champions Mumbai Indians, the UP Warriorz too released just 5 players from the squad that competed in the inaugural edition of the tournament. The franchise kept the core team intact and fine-tuned the unit with some exciting buys at the auction on Saturday.
