Rowoon, the Korean singer, actor, and model, renowned for his contributions to the music group SF9 over the past seven years, has made the significant choice to pivot his career towards solo activities. This unexpected development has stirred a wave of emotions among the group’s dedicated fanbase. Rowoon, in a heartfelt gesture, conveyed his sentiments and thoughts in a touching letter addressed to his fans through Fancafe. In this letter, Rowoon extended his apologies and gratitude to the devoted fans who have supported him throughout his career.
In the handwritten letter, he wrote, “Hello, this is Rowoon. I think I thought a lot about what words to start with. It honestly also feels a bit scary to write for the first time in so long. I think I’ve become slightly more familiar with being more strict on myself while taking on scheduled activities and taking on new challenges,” as per Soompi.
“Of course, I understand that I may receive as much hate as I’ve received interest and support, but I guess I’m a little soft. Depending on the occasion, you need to have courage to face and deny a misunderstanding when it arises, but the past days I was always busy hiding. I sincerely apologize if there are fans who were hurt and felt upset at my complacent attitude,” he further wrote.
He also extended his apologies to his fans, addressing misunderstandings and expressing his hope that his sincerity would gradually shine through as he dedicated himself to his work. Rowoon openly confessed to occasionally hiding instead of confronting problems head-on, a behaviour he sincerely regretted. He wholeheartedly apologized to his fans for this behaviour and any feelings of disappointment they may have experienced.
Additionally, Rowoon took a moment to express his profound gratitude for various facets of his life, enumerating the people and experiences that have enriched his journey. He reflecting upon his seven-year tenure as a member of SF9, which commenced in 2016.
The 27-year-old actor-singer shared his aspiration to embrace fresh challenges, accepting full responsibility for them. Concluding his letter, he wrote “Please keep watch so that Kim Seok Woo (Rowoon’s real name) can live a life that he can be responsible for. I will be exactly as how everyone remembers. I am grateful to everyone. I would be grateful if you keep watch over me with affection,” reports Soompi.
Rowoon started his solo acting career with the web drama Click Your Heart in 2016 and has since made significant strides in the world of acting. He has graced the screen as the male lead in various dramas, including notable titles such as Extraordinary You, The King’s Affection, Tomorrow, and most recently, Destined With You, which is currently airing on Netflix.
On September 18th, FNC Entertainment formally announced that group SF9 would continue as an eight-member group, revealing Rowoon’s departure from group activities. This decision allows him to wholeheartedly focus on his solo career.
