Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up for the release of his upcoming, highly-anticipated film Leo on Thursday, October 19. The film is a Lokesh Kanagraj directorial venture and features prominent names such as Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mathew Thomas and Priya Anand. Now, joining the bandwagon of the film’s hype is superstar Rajinikanth.
Rajinikanth, who is all set to collaborate with Leo director Lokesh Kanagraj in his upcoming movie, wishes that Vijay’s film turns out to be a massive success. As reported by Sun News, at a recent press event, Rajinikanth said, “I wish the film [Leo] great success and I will pray for the same. I came to Tuticorin back in the 70s during the shooting of ‘Bhuvana Oru Kelvi Kuri’.”
Leo, one of the most awaited films of the year, will see Vijay and Lokesh creatively collaborate for the second time. They first worked together on the 2021 action film Master. Ace composer Anirudh Ravichander has worked on the film’s music. The film has been produced by SS Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy for Seven Screen Studio.
Meanwhile, Lokesh and Rajinikanth will soon be collaborating on the film tentatively titled Thalaivar 171. The film will be produced by Kalanithi Maran for Sun Pictures. Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music for Thalaivar 171 as well. The stunt direction will be handled by Anbariv.
Lokesh, who is currently on a roll, has several projects lined up. He will soon be directing Kainthi 2, Vikram 2, a film with Prabhas and a spinoff film titled Rolex, featuring Suriya’s character from Vikram.
On the other hand, Rajinikanth has begun filming his next film, tentatively titled Thalaivar 170, in Thiruvananthapuram. The film will be directed by TJ Gnanavel and feature a stellar ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan and Ritika Singh.
