Days after the Palestinian militant group Hamas fired rockets toward Israeli towns, breaking through their heavily fortified border fence and sending militants deep into the territory, thousands of people, including civilians and soldiers, have been killed with hundreds taken hostage. As the attacks go on at an unprecedented rate, Israel is clearly in a state of crisis as it has not faced such adversities since the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. The magnitude of the terror attack has affected lives, causing a storm across the Gaza Strip.
Amid the chaotic situation, Hollywood filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has now visited the military base in Israel to meet the Israeli Defense Force to help bring a “bright moment during the dark time” as he helped “boost morale” amid the ongoing war. The 60-year-old director took a tour of the military bases in Southern Israel and also spoke to the soldiers. As shared by Stand With Us, an International nonprofit Israel education organization, selfies and pictures of the director with the soldiers are circulating on social media platforms.
“A bright moment during a dark time: Legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino showed his solidarity with the Israeli people by making a surprise visit to southern Israel, which has been completely devastated by Hamas’ ongoing terror war. There, he toured military bases and mingled with soldiers and residents, igniting a social media frenzy of selfies and videos. What a beautiful way to show support,” the post read.

The X handle of the Israel War Room also shared an image of the Pulp Fiction director as he met with the troops in the wake of the devastating terrorist attack that killed over 1,000 people in Gaza. Besides taking a tour of the military bases, he also mingled with the soldiers and the local residents, creating a wave on social media.

Notably, Tarantino’s love for Israel has been reflected multiple times in the past, considering his wife singer Daniella Pick’s link with the country as she hails from Israel. The couple met for the first time in 2009 during the director’s promotional tour for Inglourious Basterds. They got married in 2018 and have two children.
Speaking about the latest updates, dozens were killed as Israeli raids continued to target overnight. As per the Palestinian and Arab media reports, residents have been mourning over the deadly strike carried out at the al-Ahli Arab Hospital.
