Superstar Aamir Khan and film producer Reena Dutta’s daughter Ira Khan, the founder and CEO of a mental health support organisation, officially tied the knot with her long-time partner Nupur Shikhare on Wednesday. Nupur, a celebrity fitness trainer, refused to shed his ‘identity,’ arriving with his Baraat clad in nothing but gym clothes—vest and shorts. But it gets better. The man jogged a whopping 8 km through the bustling streets of Mumbai to reach the wedding venue, all while playing dhols and dancing to the infectious beats with friends and family outside a swanky five-star hotel in suburban Bandra.

However, the surprises continued as the couple, amidst the festivity, made their union official by signing court papers before their amused wedding guests. In a viral video, Ira, draped in traditional attire, sat alongside Nupur, who boldly sported the same black baniyan and white shorts during the sacred ceremony. While some may assume his attire was merely a reflection of his ‘job,’ it triggered a buzz among netizens who found it a tad unconventional for such an auspicious occasion.

Critics surfaced on ‘X,’ with one user expressing, “Ira and Nupur’s wedding will go down in Bollywood wedding history as one of the ugliest looking wedding. From marrying in kachha-baniyan to that evening group photo ensemble of the family… Ughhhh.”
