Salman Khan really impressed everyone as the happy cop Chulbul Pandey in the film Dabangg directed by Abhinav Kashyap. Now, thinking about it, it’s hard to imagine anyone else doing that role as well as Salman did. But did you know that at first, the director was thinking about two other actors for the part instead of Salman?
Salman Khan won our hearts all over again in the fun family film. His funny moments, perfect role as a Robinhood cop, and lively dance moves made the film a big hit. But Arbaaz Khan, Salman’s brother, shared that Irrfan Khan and Randeep Hooda were the first choices for the director to play Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg.
In an old interview with Mumbai Mirror, Arbaaz delved into more details, revealing that during the script narration by Abhinav, he asked why he wasn’t being considered for the main role of the lead cop. “But more than Chulbul, he saw me as Makkhi, which was an extension of my role in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na,” the actor said.
Arbaaz went on to mention that the director was considering Randeep Hooda or Irrfan Khan for the main role. However, with neither of them confirmed, Arbaaz proposed to produce the film and suggested, ‘What if we got Salman on board as Pandey ji?’ Upon hearing this idea, Abhinav was immediately thrilled, and everything eventually fell into place.
Following his dual role as producer and actor in the film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Salman Khan is now preparing for his next project, Tiger 3, alongside actress Katrina Kaif, Ashutosh Rana, Riddhi Dogra and Emraan Hashmi, who will portray the villain. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the film is set to hit theaters on November 12. Adding to the excitement, Shah Rukh Khan is set to make a special cameo appearance in the movie as Pathaan.
