The Inside Out 2 trailer is here to make you feel a plethora of emotions, especially anxiety. Dropped on Thursday, November, the sequel film to its 2015 original, once again takes viewers inside the head of young Riley who has now turned a teenager. In the last film, 11-year-old Riley was shown to have five core emotions, Fear, Anger, Joy, Disgust, and Sadness. They helped her to cope with the daily struggles of her life. Now that she’s grown old, the makers have thrown the emotion Anxiety into the mix, that’s likely to make her story a rollercoaster ride. The Inside Out 2 trailer begins with Riley celebrating her birthday before the viewers are pulled into the head of the newly minted teenager.
The headquarters is led by Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler) and the rest of the core emotions can be seen conversing casually when a red alarm steals their attention. Perplexed by the sudden sound, Riley’s emotions had only begun to ponder what was wrong when an army of figurines barged into the headquarters and everything changed thereafter. The crew of figurines make their purpose known by declaring it a “demo day" as they wreck the headquarters indicating overflowing emotions are destroying Riley’s mind.
Once the demolition is over, the console colour of the headquarter turns orange unexpectedly. “Orange? Who made the console orange," asks Joy when one by one other emotions chip in, “Do I look orange, I didn’t touch it, Orange is not my colour, and Not me." That’s when Anxiety makes its presence known.
If the addition of the new emotion isn’t enough, Anxiety hints she isn’t alone. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust, have all been running operations successfully in the headquarters so far but now it seems they’re going to have to change their ways to deal with all the new emotions in the ever-changing grown mind of Riley. Only time can tell if they make it through the havoc of teenage feelings.
