During an interview, Gigi Hadid revealed that she had taken acting classes in New York and wishes to continue her career in films.

Gigi Hadid, renowned for her flourishing modelling career and entrepreneurial ventures, has recently expressed a desire to explore a full-fledged career in acting. While some may recognise her from her participation in Netflix’s Next In Fashion, Gigi Hadid has now expressed her ambition to venture into the world of film. In a revealing interview with Net-A-Porter, she shared her dedication to this goal, disclosing that she had diligently attended acting classes in New York over the course of several years. Of notable interest, Gigi expressed her excitement at the prospect of receiving a call from acclaimed director Greta Gerwig, expressing her willingness to play even a minor background character in Margot Robbie’s Barbie movie. “I would’ve loved to be even a background character,” she said.

She said, “If and when the right script comes around, I’d still like to do a movie one day. But a lot of scripts that I’ve gotten over the years are just the most obvious roles for me to play. It is what it is, but I’ve only auditioned for the ones that I didn’t feel were obvious.”

In a 2017 collaboration between Gigi Hadid and luxury brand Tommy Hilfiger, a unique Gigi Barbie doll was created. This doll was a stunning replica of the supermodel herself, featuring her wavy hair, charming eyes and pout. It was released as part of the Gigi x Tommy collection and was made available for purchase at a reasonable price of just $50 (approximately Rs 4,000). This doll allowed fans and collectors to have a piece of Gigi’s iconic style and presence in their own homes.

As her daughter, Khai grows older, Gigi Hadid is finding time to revisit old hobbies and explore new ones. She is in the process of setting up an in-home ceramics studio, allowing her to create art through pottery. Additionally, she has taken up crocheting, a hobby she has started, thanks to the influence of her young child.

“I want to do things that are NEW and feel exciting; where everyone is going to leave FEELING fulfilled and that they did something FUN that day,” she shares.

The Barbie movie directed by Greta Gerwig features an impressive cast with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the lead roles. Interestingly, the film based on the iconic doll achieved tremendous success in 2023, as it became this year’s highest-grossing movie, leaving behind the Super Mario Bros. movie and Avatar 2. It collected more than $1 billion worldwide at the box office, despite clashing with Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film, Oppenheimer.
