Brad Pitt's Former Roommate Jason Priestley Says He Would Go Without A Shower For A Long Time
Jason Priestley recalls the time when he shared an apartment with Brad Pitt. He also shared amusing details of their lifestyle before fame and a bizarre challenge they took on.

Actor-director Jason Priestley shared insights into his past living arrangements, revealing that he used to be roommates with Brad Pitt. The Beverly Hills, 90210 actor reminisced about the days when the two of them, along with another individual, shared a two-bedroom apartment. Priestley acknowledged that while Pitt wasn’t as troublesome as another roommate, he recalled a peculiar game they played during their cohabitation – seeing who could endure the longest period without taking a shower. Reflecting on this now, in a recent interview on Live With Kelly and Mark, Priestley expressed his surprise at the less-than-hygienic competition. He admitted, “Dude, how disgusting! What were you thinking?"

When asked about the outcome of these bizarre challenges, Priestley revealed that Brad Pitt would always go longer without showering. “Brad, always Brad. I don’t think he does that anymore, but back then, he could go a long time without showering," Priestley said.

The actor’s recollection adds a quirky dimension to the public’s understanding of Pitt’s hygiene habits. The topic of Pitt’s hygiene practices has surfaced intermittently over the years.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Eli Roth, Pitt’s Inglourious Basterds co-star, once shared a quick and practical tip Pitt offered for freshening up on set – using baby wipes under the armpits when there’s no time for a shower. Roth recounted Pitt saying, “I have six kids. All you’ve got to do is just take them, a couple quick wipes under the pits… I’m getting [peed] on all day. I don’t have time to take a shower."

Getting back to Priestley’s conversation, he provided further context to their shared living experience. Priestley recounted the days of him, Pitt, and a third individual cohabiting in a small apartment in a less-than-ideal part of Los Angeles. When asked about their fridge contents during that time, Priestley humorously stated, “beer."

In his 2014 memoir, Priestley shared more details about this period of his life, detailing the moment he found a “tall skinny guy" (Pitt) sleeping in his bed in their North Hollywood apartment. Despite the unexpected encounter, Pitt seamlessly integrated into their shared living space, marked by a frugal lifestyle.

“We lived on ramen noodles and generic beer – the kind that came in white cans labeled BEER – and Marlboro Light cigarettes," Priestley explained. However, their friendship faced a crossroads in the early ’90s as both actors achieved success.

Priestley explained in a 2017 interview that their divergent career paths and newfound fame led to a gradual disintegration of their once close-knit group of friends. As Pitt travelled the globe making movies, Priestley remained rooted in TV show commitments, and the lack of modern technology hindered their ability to stay connected, reported Page Six.

The challenges of fame and disparate professional trajectories ultimately impacted the camaraderie they once shared. Reflecting on this period, Priestley admitted, “Our careers went in such different directions that we sort of lost touch with each other… It was sad."
