Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra made their acting debut in Bollywood 11 years ago on October 19 with Karan Johar‘s Student of the Year. The film received immense love from the audience and brought wonderful opportunities for the three debutant actors. In an earlier interview, Alia Bhatt spoke about her first impression of her co-actors.
While Varun and Alia became almost best friends during the shoot of the film, things didn’t start out great for the actors. Speaking to Sony Music, Alia said, “I thought Varun had too much of an attitude. Also, we both came from rival schools.”
After Student of the Year, Varun and Alia went on to collaborate on more romantic films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Kalank. Their chemistry is not only appreciated by fans on-screen but also off-screen during their public appearances. Varun also had a cameo in the Heartthrob song from Alia Bhatt’s film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
Meanwhile, when it came to Sidharth Malhotra, Alia said in the same interview, “As for Sidharth, he kept to himself.” “But as and when I got to know them, it was fun and we really had a fun time shooting,” Alia added. Alia and Sidharth were rumoured to be dating after the film’s release and many speculate that Alia’s beloved cat Edward is a gift from the actor. However, neither have confirmed their dating speculations. They appeared together in the film Kapoor and Sons.
Sidharth knew Varun from their time on the sets of Shah Rukh Khan’s film My Name Is Khan. They were both assistant directors for the film. As for Alia, Sidharth said that she was “girly and bubbly”, just like he had imagined her to be.
Meanwhile, it is being speculated that Varun and Sidharth will make an appearance together on Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee With Karan 8. However, there is no confirmation yet.
