Yo Yo Honey Singh Reveals Breaking Year-Long Sobriety At Sonakshi Sinha's Wedding: 'For Me, It Means...'
Yo Yo Honey Singh recently revealed that he broke his year-long sobriety at Sonakshi Sinha's wedding in June.

In a recent interview with ‘The Lallantop’, renowned rapper and music producer Yo Yo Honey Singh candidly reflected on his ongoing journey with sobriety and mental health. Having previously opened up about his struggles with alcohol and other intoxicating substances, Honey Singh shared new details about his experiences and the challenges of maintaining sobriety.

Singh revealed that while he had quit consuming hard liquor for over a year, he broke his sobriety during Sonakshi Sinha’s wedding in June. He recalled arriving at the event feeling determined to stay sober, even declaring to the paparazzi that he would dance without drinking. However, the celebratory atmosphere eventually led him to indulge. “I hadn’t had vodka in over a year. I landed here for Sonakshi’s wedding. I was very happy to attend her wedding in Mumbai. As I was going in, I declared to the paparazzi that I will dance without drinking today. I said so because I had not been drinking for a year,” Singh confessed.

He went on to describe how, fueled by the alcohol, he took over the DJ console and partied with full energy, “I hadn’t had vodka in over a year. I landed here for Sonakshi’s wedding. I was very happy to attend her wedding in Mumbai. As I was going in, I declared to the paparazzi that I will dance without drinking today. I said so because I had not been drinking for a year,” he added.

Recalling that day, Honey Singh continued,

“I went for the wedding. Everyone was there, it was Sonakshi’s wedding so I said ‘laao aaj (bring it on)’. After having more than half a bottle, I was up on the stage. There wasn’t even a stage there, just a DJ console. I took the microphone and I just flipped her party. Then I drank even more. When I got out, the paparazzi were there and I was drunk.”

Singh also spoke humorously about his personal definition of sobriety, explaining that for him, it means avoiding hard liquor, but occasionally allowing himself a few pints of beer. When the interviewer mentioned that sobriety is often seen as total abstinence, Singh laughed, admitting, “For me, not drinking means having two pints of beer.”
