Salman Khan has been one of the leading names of Bollywood since the 90s, strengthening his stardom through featuring in numerous superhits, now considered as Bollywood Classics. At the same time, Madhuri Dixit was being recognised for her charming screen presence and immaculate dance skills. So, when the two actors were cast as leads in this film, their chemistry gave way to one of the biggest and influential works in Indian cinema.

By now, you must have guessed the title of the film; Hum Aapke Hain Koun. The musical-romance drama was released three decades ago and has maintained the same craze it had back then. According to the reports, the film stayed for over 125 weeks at the Liberty Theatres during the release, while for more than 40 weeks, the shows ran houseful.

After its theatrical debut on August 5, 1994, the film became the highest-grossing release of the year. The Box-Office India website called it “the biggest blockbuster of the modern era.” The project boasted of a strong supporting cast, that inspired familial love and support. It featured some of the biggest names in Bollywood.

Hum Aapke Hain Koun was directed by Sooraj Barjatya, who is also the writer. Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit were cast as the leads. They are supported by names like Renuka Shahane, Mohnish Badal, Anupam Kher, Reema Lagoo, Alok Nath, Bindu, Ajit Vachani, Satish Shah, Laxmikant Baird and many more. It is produced by Ajit Kumar Barjatya, Kamal Kumar Barjatya and Rajkumar Barjatya under the banner of Rajshri Productions. The music in the film is handled by Raamlaxman while the cinematographer is Rajan Kinagi and Mukhtar Ahmed has done the editing.

The film is inspired by Nadiya Ke Paar, a 1982 release, helmed by Govind Moonis. The lead pair included Sachin Pilgaonkar and Sadhana Singh along with Mitali, Vishnukumar Vyas and Leela Mishra, among others. It is based on the book Kohbar Ki Shart, written by Keshav Prasad Mishra.
