When Salim Khan Recalled Salman Khan's Fight With Vivek Oberoi Over Aishwarya: 'Koi Aur Le Gaya...'
Actor Vivek Oberoi had accused Salman Khan of threatening him owing to his then relationship with Aishwarya Rai. Check out what Salim Khan said.

Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai were last seen together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 1999 romantic musical Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. The two were reportedly dating each other at the time before parting ways in 2002. Following this, reports of Aishwarya dating Vivek Oberoi surfaced in media, resulting in an ugly spat between him and Salman. During a press conference in 2003, Vivek had even accused Salman of threatening him, owing to his then relationship with Aishwarya. Aishwarya Rai tied the knot with Abhishek Bachchan in April 2007. They welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya, in November 2011.

In an old interview with Zoom, Salman Khan’s father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, had recounted the actor’s ugly spat with Vivek. “There is no logical or rational solution to emotional problems, and both Salman and Vivek have been emotional. Years later, they will realise that they fought over a stupid thing. Koi aur le gaya, koi aur chala and yeh wahi ke wahi hain (Someone else took her away and these two remained where they were),” Salim Khan was quoted as saying by Zoom.

In the same interview, Salim Khan had made a prediction about his son, stating that his life would change for the better after 2009. “Salman will soon be out of the problems he is surrounded by. He is destined to. From 2009 onwards, times will change for the better for him. If Salman has to get married, it will happen in a year or two; otherwise, chances are bleak. While I love all my children equally the attention, right now, is on Salman because he is going through a difficult time in his life,” he had said.

Two decades later, Vivek opened up about a lot of ‘unnecessary stuff’ which discouraged him and left him with no work.

“In hindsight, I went through a lot of stuff that was unnecessary,” he said, speaking with Hindustan Times. Talking about lobbying and ‘repressive stories’ in Bollywood, Vivek dubbed it as dark sides of the industry and said he was at the receiving end of it all.

Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan sent their fans into a frenzy after they attended Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) fashion gala (separately, obviously) in Mumbai last year. The fact that they both were under the same roof was undeniable enough to make their fans excited.
