Esha Deol once revealed that she would tie rakhi not only to her brothers, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, but also her father, Dharmendra. In an interview last year, Esha shared her memories of celebrating Raksha Bandhan as a child. During the chat, she briefly mentioned that Sunny and Bobby were a part of Raksha Bandhan celebrations. She added that she would get good sum of money from them too.
Speaking with Filmygyan, Esha said, “Yeah, usually it’s a beautiful tradition that we follow, we always look forward to it. Even as kids you know. And for some reason as kids, we would tie rakhi even to my dad, which was very sweet. So from him and the brothers, I would get a nice amount, a decent amount.”
When asked how much money she got from her siblings, Esha said that she would get Rs 500 to Rs 5000 but it never crossed a lakh. She added that she never spends that money because it is ‘shagun.’
Esha is Sunny and Bobby’s half-sister. Esha is Dharmendra’s daughter with Hema Malini. Whereas Sunny and Bobby are Dharmendra’s sons from his first marriage, Prakash Kaur. Although they have shared rare comments about each other, Esha, Sunny and Bobby broke the internet when they stepped out last year for Gadar 2’s screening.
Speaking with Instant Bollywood after the premiere, she said, “First of all, reunion is something I don’t understand. It’s very funny to hear that word. We are very private as a family and we’ve kept it that way and we are going to continue keeping it that way.”
She added, “This was a one off where it very organically happened and you all saw us in a picture which was really well received and the public got very overwhelmed so that was very sweet.”
