Actor Imran Khan had a short yet incredible run in Bollywood that left people wanting more. In a recent interview, the actor revealed how he planned to become a writer and filmmaker in the industry but experienced deception first hand. As per the reports, when he returned to India after completing his studies, he aspired to become a writer and a director in the entertainment industry. So, made a folder of the ideas and stories he had and went to a television channel, in hopes of pitching. According to him, he did not reveal to anyone that he had big industry connections.
Imran Khan revealed that his ideas were appreciated by the channel, but they never called him again. Reportedly, he was not aware of his idea being stolen until one of his actress friends told him about being cast in a show with a similar plot.
The Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na actor stated, “I went to meet her, and when she gave me the script, it bore a striking resemblance to the outline of my story.” He further revealed that the makers used his idea to convert it into an episode. He tried to contact the makers to ask, “What did you guys do?” but for some reason he could not place them.
Reportedly, this experience changed something within the actor and led him to get in touch with Abbas Tyrewala, with whom he worked on Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, later. According to Imran, initially the film was being produced by Jhamu Sughand. But his production faced some problems, after which Imran took the script to his uncle, Aamir Khan, so that he could help them find a producer.
Aamir then paused and thought out loud, “You know, I’m a producer.” So, he asked Imran to narrate the film after 6 months, saying that if he likes it, he is ready to become the producer.
