Fans of the popular comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah have been waiting for the comeback of actress Disha Vakani, who played Daya Jethalal Gada aka Dayaben in the show. She took an indefinite maternity leave in 2017 after welcoming her daughter. However, amid news of her return to the show, there has been no update about that yet.
Talking about Dayaben, the character remains fans’ favourite to date. The highlight of the character was its unique accent and her one-liners like ‘Hey Maa!! Maata Ji’ and ‘Tapu Ke Papa’ were loved by the viewers.
Fans who are fond of Dayaben have often tried to imitate her and now, TV actress Aishwarya Sharma has also joined the bandwagon. In a new viral video, the former Bigg Boss 17 contestant could be seen delivering Shamrin Segal’s dialogue from the web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar in Dayaben’s unique accent. She said, “Ek baar dekh lijiye..deewana bana dijiye..Hey Maa Maata Ji.”
Her flawless mimicry of the iconic character has left the audience in splits, promoting several reactions from the users. An Instagram user wrote, “She is absolutely very perfect for the role.”
Another Insta user commented, “TMKOC owner calling you soooon.” One of the users wrote, “New Daya Bhabhi mil gayi.”

However, Disha made several short appearances on TMKOC after her exit in 2017. Last year, on the occasion of TMKOC completing 15 years, Asit Kumar Modi made a big announcement that Dayaben will be back on the show soon. He said, “Daya Bhabhi aka Disha Vakani has entertained the fans and also made us laugh for all these years. Fans have been waiting for her to come back and I promise you all that Disha Vakani will soon be back to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.”
Apart from Disha, several actors have also exited the show including Bhavya Gandhi, Shailesh Lodha, Raj Anadkat, Jennifer Mistry, Gurucharan Singh and Neha Mehta.
