Actor Unni Lalu, best known for his work in Jithin Issac Thomas’ directorial Pra Thoo Mu, teamed up with debutant director Aneel Dev for an action drama Kattis Gang. The team launched the trailer on May 6 and it’s receiving applause from the Malayalam audience. The newcomer Unni Lalu steals the show and plays the role of an aspiring director who is a die-hard Rajinikanth fan.
Set in the backdrop of a village, the two-minute six-second trailer offers a glimpse into the world of Unni Lalu. His dreams of becoming a film director are dashed by some uneven circumstances which take a major turn in the story. With breathtaking action sequences, Kattis Gang promises to thrill the audience with a gripping narrative and screenplay. Also, the music in the trailer stands out as it builds tension with every frame and sets the tone.
With Nikhil V Narayanan delivering great cinematography, the stage is set for a thrilling suspense film. Alongside Unni Lalu, the film also stars actors Soundararaja, Sajin Cherukayil, Althaf Salim, Amal Raj Dev and Pramod Veliyanadan. Actor Soundararaja, who has worked in films like Bigil and Pathu Thala, will play the antagonist in Kattis Gang. He has previously worked in Tamil films like Bogan and Bhoomi.
It looks like the audience is quite impressed with the trailer as it has already gained 15,000 views and 500 likes since its release on YouTube.
The film started with a pooja ceremony at the Anchumana Temple in Ernakulam, Kerala in March this year. Kattis Gang is produced by Subhash Raghuram Sukumaran under the Oceanic Movies banner.
Unni Lalu’s performance in Rekha garnered a lot of appreciation in 2023. Despite its poor performance in theatres, the film has received a lot of attention since its release on Netflix.
On the other hand, Unni Lalu and Sidharth Bharathan team up for Paranu Paranu Paranu Chellan (PPPC). The film is directed by Jishnu Harindra Varma, who previously directed the Lukman Avaran film No Man’s Land (2021). The screenplay is by Vishnu Raj, who previously wrote the film Ormayil Oru Shishiram (2019).
