Trisha Krishnan is one of the stalwarts of Indian cinema and has proved her acting prowess in many hit films like 96 and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. Now, according to the reports, she will reportedly perform a dance number alongside Thalapathy Vijay in the film The Greatest of All Time. Thalapathy Vijay has also not mentioned this on social media. The Greatest of All Time, directed by Venkat Prabhu, will be released on the big screens on September 5. Prabhu Deva, Jayaram, Yogi Babu and others will also play important roles in this film. AGS Entertainment has backed this film.
Trisha and Vijay have performed on dance numbers earlier as well. One of their superhit numbers is Appadi Podu from the film Ghilli directed by Dharani. KK and Anuradha Sriram rendered their vocals to this track composed by Vidyasagar. P Vijay penned the lyrics.
Trisha recently played the role of SI Brinda Krishna in the pan-India web series Brinda, currently streaming on SONY LIV. Ravindra Vijay, Aamani, Anand Sami and others have essayed key roles in this series, which has received mixed to positive reviews from the audience. Directed by Surya Vangala, this series started streaming on August 1, 2024.
In an interview, Surya Vangala talked about how Trisha’s name was finalised for the project. The director said, “It was my producer Ashish Kolla who suggested Trisha’s name who kept seeing her in the role. Though Trisha was not looking to do a series, she read through the script, while she was on a flight. It was immediately after she landed, Trisha said she is onboard the project." Surya added that when Trisha came on the sets and gave her first shot, he could totally see her as Brinda.
Trisha will next act in the film VidaaMuyarchi written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni. Ajith Kumar will play the male lead in this film starring Sanjay Dutt, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Arjun Sarja and others. Lyca Productions has backed this film, which was earlier expected to be released in Diwali 2024. As per a report, the film can miss this release date.
