Actress Priya Bhavani Shankar is one of the most sought-after actresses in the film industry after acting in films like Yaanai and Thiruchitrambalam. She is all set for her upcoming horror-mystery flick Black, directed by KG Balasubramani. The makers unveiled the film’s trailer on the YouTube channel of Potential Studios, on September 25. The trailer starts with Priya’s character calling an emergency number and explaining her problem. Just in the middle of the call, someone gets hold of her hand and assaults her. It then shows her and her partner (Jiiva) moving to a new locality, where they start experiencing strange phenomena. Scared for their lives, they immediately escape from their house. The trailer concludes with a police officer telling Jiiva that within 7 years of marriage, the first suspect is the husband if the wife goes missing or something ill happens to her. The trailer has garnered more than 5,00,000 views and counting. Besides Priya and Jiiva, Black stars has an ensemble star cast of actors Vivek Prasanna, Yog Japee, Sha Ra and Swayam Siddha. Black’s shooting has been wrapped up and is expected to be released at the cinema halls in 2024.
Social media users loved the trailer and appreciated Jiiva for trying something different. One of the users commented, “Looks like Vivarium but good move. Happy to see Jiiva trying something out of the box". Vivarium is a 2019 film directed by Lorcan Finnegan. It revolves around a young couple looking for the perfect home. However, they find themselves trapped in a mysterious labyrinth-like neighbourhood of identical houses.
