A movie based on the life of BSP party Telangana chief and former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar is on the cards. The name Praveen IPS has been finalised for this movie. The trailer of this biopic was released recently. Produced by Mamidala Neela, Praveen IPS will be released on February 16. The film’s pre-release event was held at Ramanaidu Studios as the release date neared. Many film and political personalities were present at the program. The trailer of Praveen IPS was released by senior director C. Umamaheswara Rao and producer Vivek Kuchibotla.
On this occasion, C. Umamaheswara Rao said, “Praveen IPS will move the hearts of the audience. There is a wrong impression that if films are made for ideals, people will not support them. Movies like Mala Pilla and Raithu Bidda have shown ideals and idealism touch people’s hearts."
Lead actor Nanda Kishore said that he was lucky to play the role of RS Praveen Kumar in Praveen IPS. He reminisced that the opportunity came to him because of Vivek Kuchibhotla who suggested his name for the role. He praised RS Praveen Kumar, calling him a humane person, due to which he helped many people. Producer Vivek Kuchibhotla said that Dr. RS Praveen brought many revolutionary changes in the field of education as the Secretary of Welfare Gurukulas.
Director Durga Dev Naidu said Praveen IPS was his debut film and thanked Mamidala Neela for giving him a chance to direct a biopic on such a great person. He said ideally a trilogy of films should be made on the life of RS Praveen Kumar but they made do with selective elements from his life.
Lead actress Roja said that the importance of education has been emphasized in the film and said that the film needed to be shown to children. ASKES Foundation Chairman Kolluri Sattiah said that RS Praveen Kumar, who was born in a remote village in Mahbubnagar district, endured many hardships and served well as an IPS officer. He wished the film the best of luck.
