Tiger Shroff has come a long way since his debut in the 2014 film Heropanti. Now five films old, the 28-year-old tasted major success earlier this year when Baaghi 2 became his first film to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
Talking about his career graph, he told Times of India, “My debut film Heropanti established my image as an actor who can dance and do action scenes. Luckily, people identified with me too but I was very raw and during the process, learnt a lot about filmmaking and the craft, which was my motivation to work twice as hard for Baaghi and its sequel.”
“The Baaghi franchise presented a different side of me—it showed that I had potential as an actor. People are still talking about its climax scene and we are already in the process of making Baaghi 3,” he added.
A star kid, he aspires to make his own name in Bollywood. “It’s important for me that I am not just labelled as Jackie Shroff ka beta. The pressure of being a superstar’s son is too big and I felt that the soon I come out of my father’s shadow, the better,” he said.
Tiger is also acutely aware of his USP. Talking about his strengths, he said, “I think my appeal lies in the kinds of films I do. I feel I am good with action scenes. That there are family audiences who enjoy my dancing and action also says quite a lot. Many people ask me to teach them my dance moves and stunts. It really motivates me to give them something that they’ll enjoy watching.”
Tiger will next be seen in Student of the Year 2 and Baaghi 3.
