Fans of the popular legal drama Suits are in for a treat as the ninth and final season, previously exclusively available on Peacock, is set to arrive on Netflix on July 1. The announcement came after the cast, including Patrick J Adams, Sarah Rafferty, Dule Hill, Amanda Schull, Abigail Spencer and former USA Network president Jeff Wachtel, reunited for the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas. The series follows Mike Ross (played by Adams), a college dropout with exceptional intellect, who impresses top lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) at a New York law firm and gets hired despite lacking legal experience. Since its addition to Netflix in 2023, the show has broken records and attracted a younger audience.
While seasons 1 to 8 of Suits are already available for streaming, season 9 will be available in the US starting from the first week of July. The final season features Rafferty and Hill reprising their characters, while Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, Amanda Schull and Katherine Heigl were also added to the cast. Adams, on the other hand, made a special appearance during the finale. When the series first appeared on Netflix, it quickly became a sensation, as it spent a month in the weekly Top 10 and became the most streamed show of 2023.
According to People, Patrick J Adams and Sarah Rafferty, who played Mike Ross and Donna Paulsen on Suits, made an exciting announcement earlier. They are teaming up for a rewatch podcast on SiriusXM, where the duo will break down the series episode by episode, along with sharing behind-the-scenes stories from sets. Adams and Rafferty will also welcome guest stars, including friends, fans and other important personalities, to join the discussions.
In a joint statement, they said, “On the heels of the record-breaking Suits resurgence, it feels like the perfect time to rewatch the show that changed our lives. We are thrilled to collaborate with the incredible team at SiriusXM and look forward to connecting with our friends from the cast and crew, as well as the Suits fans who made it all possible.”
The final season of Suits focuses on the firm Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams dealing with new challenges after Robert Zane takes the blame to protect Harvey Specter. This leaves Samantha Wheeler struggling without her mentor. Meanwhile, Harvey realises he can’t imagine losing Donna, who is the most important person in his life. Throughout the season, Harvey and Donna try to balance their relationship with their professional lives as they work to restore the firm’s damaged reputation alongside Louis Litt, Alex Williams, Katrina Bennett and Samantha.
Following the success, the makers last year announced a spin-off series, titled Suits: LA featuring a new cast, led by The Arrow star Stephen Amell.
