Stree 2 Spoilers Ahead: Stree 2 has finally released on August 15. Fans have waited six long years for Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer. While the film packs the punch, the film also confirmed the future of Dinesh Vijan’s Horror-Comedy Universe, formally known as Maddock Supernatural Universe. In his cameo role, Varun Dhawan confirmed the existence of Vampires, confirming reports of Vampires of Vijay Nagar. It is claimed that Ayushmann will be heading the film.
In the scene featured in Stree 2, Varun Dhawan and Abhishek Bannerjee discuss about returning to Delhi after their visit to Chanderi when Varun informs him about a new threat in the capital. He says that there is a man on the loose who is sucking blood out of people’s neck, seemingly confirming that the Vampires are making a debut in the horror-comedy universe.
Although Dinesh Vijan has kept the project under wraps, Pinkvilla has reported that Ayushmann Khurrana will be headlining the project. The film will also star Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. The film will be helmed by Munjya director Aditya Satpodar.
A source told the publication, “Ayushmann Khurrana and Dinesh Vijan have previously worked together on Bala and share a great creative bond. They have been discussing Vampires of Vijay Nagar for a while now and are all set to take the film on floors by the end of this year.” The insider shared the team is hoping for the film to go on floors in November.
“It will mark the first collaboration of Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. Both the actors have a very unique arc in the film, which will take the audiences by surprise. The script is presently in the writing stage and will soon get into the pre-production stage,” the grapevine added. Ayushmann and Dinesh are yet to comment about the development.
Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Supernatural Universe began in 2018, with the release of Stree. The blockbuster film was followed by Bhediya in 2022 and Munjya this year. Stree 2 is the fourth film from the universe and is expected to do great business like the universe’s previous three films.
