After impressing the viewers and critics alike with their last release Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar team up again for Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan. An official remake of Tamil rom-com Kalyana Samayal Saadham, the film has been directed by RS Prasanna (who also made the original). And as expected, the film is quirky, fun and enlightening especially because of the manner in which it deals with the problem of erectile dysfunction. It is interesting to see how actors Ayushmann who made his debut with Vicky Donor, which was based on the idea of sperm donation and Bhumi who will soon be seen in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha with Akshay Kumar are taking up unconventional topics to carve a niche for themselves.
With such a wacky cast and a topic that’s still a taboo, Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan goes beyond a typical love story. It is about a couple who are in love but there is an interesting twist to this tale.
