Shehnaaz Gill, who shared a deep bond with the late actor Sidharth Shukla, recently opened up about their relationship in an interview. While they never publicly confirmed if they were dating, the two were often linked by fans and affectionately referred to as “SidNaaz.” During a candid conversation with Farah Khan on Fun With Farah, Shehnaaz revealed her feelings of possessiveness towards Sidharth.
“I was possessive because, bhai, he was handsome,” Shehnaaz admitted, laughing. “If someone is so good-looking, it’s natural to feel insecure and possessive.” While Shehnaaz clarified that she doesn’t typically care about looks, she confessed that as a girlfriend, she tends to get jealous quickly.
Fans of the duo frequently used the hashtag #SidNaaz on social media, celebrating their chemistry. While the pair maintained that they were just friends, their bond was undeniable. Sidharth Shukla went on to win Bigg Boss 13 in 2020, and the two continued to collaborate on various projects. Tragically, Sidharth passed away in September 2021 at the age of 40, following a cardiac arrest.
After Sidharth’s death, Shehnaaz released an emotional tribute to him in the form of a music video titled Tu Yaheen Hai. She also honoured his memory during the Bigg Boss 15 finale, where she dedicated a heartfelt tribute to him.
During her recent interview, Shehnaaz also spoke about the traits she looks for in a partner. Describing herself as an “alpha woman,” she emphasised that she seeks a man who is an equal, both financially and professionally. “I don’t like it when a man pays for me,” she added. “I’m very loyal, and I believe fate plays a big role in relationships,” she said.
On the professional front, Shehnaaz continues to make waves in Bollywood. She recently appeared in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, alongside Salman Khan, and in Thank You For Coming, which premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
