The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 finale held at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 26 was a night worth remembering. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who displayed commendable dominance throughout the tournament, emerged victorious in a much-anticipated face-off with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), lifting the trophy after 10 years. The crowd reverberated with KKR chants as the Shreyas Iyer-captained team cruised past the 113-mark target, securing 114 runs with just two wickets down. KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan celebrated the victory with the players on the field. Later, SRK’s Bollywood contemporaries and industry friends congratulated the superstar on the historic triumph.
Preity Zinta, the co-owner of Punjab Kings extended her heartiest congratulations to her Veer Zaara co-star for the “incredible win”. “Congratulations on such an incredible win and your third IPL title Kolkata Knight Riders, Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla (co-owner). Hard luck Subrisers Hyderabad. You guys were great throughout the tournament,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

On his Instagram Stories, Karan Johar shared a picture of Shah Rukh Khan displaying his iconic extended arm pose on the field as he wrote, “Bhai ka victory. IPL 2024 ka trophy mil gaya. Badhai ho. Love you bhai. (Brother’s victory. Bagged the IPL 2024 trophy. Congratulations. Love you, brother).” KKR’s theme song “Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo re” played in the background.
Ranveer Singh who will soon be slipping into the shoes of Shah Rukh Khan for Don 3 congratulated the Bollywood Baadshah by dropping A KKR-themed poster, featuring the players on his Instagram Stories. “Congrats on a glorious campaign. A true team effort,” read his words of praise.
Joining the bandwagon was Kartik Aaryan who also congratulated the “Champions” via his Instagram Stories. The Chandu Champion actor put up the official KKR poster.
Besides Shah Rukh Khan, his wife-designer Gauri Khan and kids Suhana, Aryan and AbRam Khan also attended the final KKR-SRH match. Suhana’s BFFs Ananya Panday and Shanaya Kapoor also marked their presence at the stadium. SRK’s manager Pooja Dadlani shared a set of pictures on Instagram capturing King Khan and his family posing for clicks with his family and with the trophy on the ground.
The euphoric event marks KKR’s third IPL win. They previously lifted the cup in 2012 and 2014.
