SC Admits Appeal Challenging Verdict on Salman's 2002 Hit and Run Case
The Maharashtra Government urged the court to put the hearing on fast track, but the SC bench headed by Justice Khehar refused to do so.

In a setback to Salman Khan , the Supreme Court on Tuesday admitted Maharashtra Government’s appeal challenging the Bombay High Court’s verdict acquitting the actor in 2002 Hit & Run case.

The Maharashtra Government urged the court to put the hearing on fast track, but the SC bench headed by Justice Khehar refused to do so.

After a long-drawn legal battle, the Bombay High Court had acquitted the actor in the 2002 hit-and-run case. An SUV , which the police claimed was driven by the actor in an inebriated state, ran over people sleeping on the pavement , killing one person and injuring four others.
