Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan and her mother, Amrita Singh, have made headlines with their latest real estate investment. The mother-daughter duo recently acquired two additional commercial office properties in Andheri West, Mumbai, for a combined total of Rs 22.26 crore. This marks yet another significant addition to their growing real estate portfolio in the city.
According to registration documents obtained by FloorTap.com, Sara Ali Khan and Amrita Singh have purchased two commercial units on the ninth floor of the Signature Building, located off Veera Desai Road in Andheri West. The two properties were bought from Veer Savarkar Projects Private Limited. The total value of the deal amounts to Rs 22.26 crore, with each individual unit priced at Rs 11.13 crore.
Each office space has a built-up area of 2,099 square feet and a carpet area of 1,905 square feet, providing ample space for business operations. Additionally, each property comes with three designated parking spaces, offering convenience in a city where parking is often a challenge. The transaction documents, officially registered on October 10, 2024, show that the duo paid a stamp duty of Rs 66.8 lakh for each unit.
This is not Sara and Amrita’s first investment in the Signature Building. In July of the previous year, the actress and her mother had purchased another office unit in the same building, located on the fourth floor. That transaction was valued at Rs 9 crore, with a stamp duty of Rs 41.01 lakh paid. The deal also included three parking spaces, and the property was sold by Aishwarya Property and Estates Pvt Ltd.
Real estate investment among Bollywood stars is nothing new, with many celebrities choosing to invest in commercial properties across Mumbai to secure high rental yields or expand their personal real estate portfolios. In recent months, several well-known figures from the industry have made similar moves. Stars like Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Ajay Devgn have all invested in prime commercial real estate in the city, capitalizing on the lucrative opportunities it offers.
Beyond her real estate ventures, Sara Ali Khan continues to stay busy in her professional life. The actress was last seen in the historical drama Ae Watan Mere Watan, where she garnered praise for her performance. Currently, she is gearing up for the release of her next big project, Metro In Dino, where she stars opposite Aditya Roy Kapur.
Directed by the acclaimed Anurag Basu, Metro In Dino is the much-anticipated sequel to the 2007 hit Life In A Metro. The film is described as an anthology featuring “heartwarming stories of contemporary couples” and boasts an ensemble cast that includes Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sensharma, Ali Fazal, and others in pivotal roles. Initially set for a September release, the film’s release has been pushed to November 29, 2024, building further anticipation among fans.
