Based on the real-life story of an industrialist, Srikanth also features Jyotika, Alaya F and Sharad Kelkar in key roles.

Rajkummar Rao’s Srikanth is making all the right noises at the ticket counters. The film, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, hit the theatres on May 10. Based on the real-life story of an industrialist, Srikanth also features Jyotika, Alaya F and Sharad Kelkar in key roles. Jyotika recently informed her fans that Srikanth has joined the Rs 50-crore club.

The actress dropped Srikanth’s poster featuring Rajkummar Rao on her Instagram Stories. The text on the poster read, “Hitting it out of the park! Crosses 50 crore NBOC.”

Take a look at the poster here:

Rajkummar Rao shared the same poster on his Instagram timeline and wrote, “The heartwarming saga of #Srikanth has won over audiences, achieving a fantastic Rs 50.02 CR!”

Celebrating the big feat, Rajkummar Rao also shared an Instagram Story. With a couple of red heart emoticons, the actor wrote, “And we hit half a century Srikanth Rs 50.02 crore and counting NBOC.”

Srikanth has been impressing the fans and the critics alike. Earlier, Akshay Kumar lauded Rajkummar Rao’s performance in Srikanth. The Bade Miyan Chote Miyan star shared Srikanth’s poster featuring Rajkummar on his Instagram Stories. Akshay loved the film so much that he suggested that Rajkummar should start giving acting classes now. Akshay wrote, “Nothing is impossible. Srikanth is a must-watch! Picture dekh ke mazza aa gaya. Rajkummar Rao, bhai ab toh acting classes shuru kar de. [I enjoyed the movie extremely. Rajkummar, bhai now you must start giving acting classes]. You are simply brilliant.” Responding to Akshay Kumar, Rajkummar Rao said, “Thank you so much my dearest Akshay sir. Aapse hi seekhte hai sir. You’re the best.”

In case you don’t know, Srikanth is based on the real-life story of an industrialist, Srikanth Bolla, who despite being visually impaired defied all odds and achieved success in life. Rajkummar Rao essays the titular role. The film is jointly backed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani.

Meanwhile, earlier in a conversation with ET Times, Srikanth director Tushar Hiranandani revealed that Sharad Kelkar initially wanted compensation as per his market value. However, after hearing Srikanth’s narration, the actor was moved and decided to do the film regardless of the fee amount.

Tushar Hiranandani said, “When Sharad came to meet me, there was a price he quoted, and he deserves it also. But then I told him that it was difficult for me and requested him to listen to the narration.” He added, “Sharad enters the film post interval and guess the fee on his Srikanth contract? It is just ₹ 101! In reality, Ravi is the man behind the success of Srikanth Bolla.”
