TamilRockers, a website infamous for piracy, has reportedly leaked the entire film in HD.

Despite the Madras High Court directing 37 internet service providers to block over 12,000 websites known for exhibiting pirated versions of Tamil movies, 2.0’s 2D version was leaked online within hours of its release on Thursday.

TamilRockers, a website infamous for piracy, has reportedly leaked the entire Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer film in HD.

Responding to the online leak, Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty took to Twitter to request Rajinikanth’s millions of fans to get back at the people responsible. He tweeted, “Despite court order if these people have the guts to do this @rajinifans @rajini_fanclub you need to teach them a lesson."

Directed by S Shankar and created on a massive budget of Rs 600 crore, 2.0 released in more than five languages on over 7,000 screens across the world on Thursday and is expected to shatter several box office records with its performance. However, it has got mixed reviews from critics.

Watch: 2.0 Movie Review

Rajeev Masand called 2.0 “an overlong, seldom subtle but always watchable movie that knows its strengths and plays to them" in his review.

2.0 is mostly humourless and doesn’t have the lightness of touch that it could’ve done with. But the action, the VFX, and the sheer spectacle on display allow me to forgive many of its faults. Shortcomings notwithstanding, it is the victory of vision. Shankar has shown us that slick special effects blockbusters are very much within our grasp," he said.

2.0 is the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster film Enthiran (Robot) which starred Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles.
