Prasanth Varma BREAKS Silence on Rumoured Rift With Ranveer Singh: 'He Came to My Office With...'
Prasanth Varma finally reacted to rumours that he had a rift with Ranveer Singh over Rakshas.

Director Prasanth Varma finally reacted to the rumoured rift with Ranveer Singh over Rakshas. The filmmaker, in a new interview, said that the rumours around their fallout are not true. He confirmed that Ranveer did come down to his office to meet him with his ‘whole caravan’ and even did a look test. However, the rumours of the prolonged shoot hours and creative differences are ‘unfolded.’

“Yes, Ranveer Singh has his own style. He came to the office with a whole caravan. But, the way of working in the South is different. Here everyone works as a team. No one ever tries to impose any kind of authority on anyone,” Prashanth told Amar Ujala. Speaking about the rumours of creative differences and prolonged shoot times, Prasanth clarified, “The talk of me taking three-four days to shoot for half an hour is unfounded. We completed his look test efficiently. I’m not sure where these rumours originated, and I prefer not to dwell on them.”

A senior technician who was at the shoot in Hyderabad also vouched for Ranveer. “Ranveer’s spirited performance in Telugu post-shoot showed his excitement for this project,” the technician said.

Ranveer allegedly opted out of Prasanth’s ‘Rakshas’ last week. Pinkvilla reported that Ranveer and Prasanth parted ways on the project due to creative differences. “Ranveer had travelled to Hyderabad in April for a photo shoot to announce the film. While all the plans were set, the official announcement has now hit a roadblock. Ranveer Singh will no longer be a part of Prashanth Varma’s Rakshas. They have amicably parted ways due to creative differences,” a source told the publication.

Soon after, a source told Times Now/Zoom TV that Ranveer walked out of the project three days after he shot with the Hanu Man director. The report claimed it was Ranveer who “pursued” Prasanth for Rakshas as the director had no plans to commence its shoot anytime soon. Prasanth was apparently planning to start another project in Telugu after ‘Hanu-Man’, but he decided to postpone it to work on ‘Rakshas’ after seeing Ranveer’s “enthusiasm”.

The source revealed Ranveer flew down to shoot. “Contrary to reports, he didn’t shoot a first-look video with us. He actually shot for the film for three days with us. We packed up happily. The next thing we know he sends us a message saying he would not be able to do the film. No explanation was offered as to why. We were stunned,” the insider said. The source added they were told someone had advised Ranveer against taking up ‘Rakshas’. However, Ranveer hasn’t addressed the claims yet.
