Shraddha Kapoor is unstoppable. Riding high on the success of Stree 2, the actress is making headlines once again. Recently, she surpassed Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Instagram followers, becoming the third most-followed Indian celebrity on the platform, just behind Virat Kohli and Priyanka Chopra. But there’s more—Shraddha has now overtaken Priyanka, securing the second spot and is on the verge of joining the exclusive 100 million followers club on Instagram.
Shraddha Kapoor has now 91.9 million followers on the photo-sharing application. As for Priyanka Chopra, the number stands at 91.8 million. It implies that Shraddha has overtaken Priyanka on Instagram. FYI: Virat Kohli remains at the top position with a massive 270 million followers on the platform.
Last year, in an interaction with The Indian Express, Shraddha Kapoor credited her social media popularity to “the love she receives from her fans and followers”. She said, “I keep it as far away from me as possible. I don’t even like to check my WhatsApp. I am active on social media because of the love I receive there.”
Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 continues to win hearts for its impeccable storyline, terrific direction and standout cast including Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi. The film marks a new addition to the supernatural universe created by Maddock Films. Released on August 15, the film is directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt.
Interestingly, the mystery around Shraddha Kapoor’s character in Stree 2 remains intact, despite the sequel answering many questions around the same. In a recent revelation, Niren Bhatt has now confirmed that the makers are planning to explore the backstory of the characters in future films, including Shraddha’s. Speaking with Zoom, he said, “Yes, we will explore the story of Shraddha Kapoor as Stree’s daughter, and that’s why we didn’t reveal her name.”
Further adding all the characters from Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya is equally important, Niren Bhatt assured, “We are thinking of expanding their stories. I don’t know how, when, and in which films they will come, but they will come.”
Producer Dinesh Vijan added to the excitement around the Universe as he confirmed that Stree 3 would be released soon. He revealed that the third installment of the film was in the making during the trailer launch of Stree 2 itself.
