The untimely demise of actress Poonam Pandey came as a shock to everyone. The unfortunate news was first shared on her social handle which in no time went viral. The post claimed that the actress passed away because of cervical cancer. Later, News18 also confirmed the news. “She passed away last night,” her team said. Many of her fans can’t believe that she is no more. “I can’t believe really??” a comment read.
Well, many of us know that the actress was married to Sam Bombay who she later accused of alleged domestic violence. They got married in a hush-hush ceremony in Mumbai on September 10, 2020. and had also shared photos on social media. But this marriage was short-lived. But first, let us know who is Sam Bombay.
He has worked as an ad filmmaker with celebrities such as Deepika Padukone, Tamannaah Bhatia, Allu Arjun and Yuvraj Singh, among others. Sam directed Befikra, a romantic music video featuring Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani. He even directed Vidyut Jammwal and Urvashi Rautela-starrer music video Gal Ban Gayi. Before Poonam Pandey, Sam Bombay was married to model Elle Ahmed. With Elle, Sam has two children – son Troy Bombay and daughter Tia Bombay.
Alleged Domestic Violence:
Sam Bombay was arrested by the Mumbai police after the actress accused him of physical assault. Reportedly, Poonam has suffered head, eye and face injuries and was also admitted to a hospital. “Actress Poonam Pandey’s husband, Sam Bombay, was arrested yesterday in Mumbai after the actress complained that he assaulted her. Poonam Pandey was admitted to a hospital,” Mumbai police was quoted saying to India Today.
The couple was in Goa when the actress filed a complaint of sexual assault and molestation and domestic violence. However, they reunited after he got bail and Poonam had said that, “which marriage does not have its ups and downs.” She went on to say that things were blown out of proportion and the two of them are trying to work on the differences between them
She had also spoken about her assault to Spotboye. “I got beaten up very badly this time, it was a half murder. I don’t know for how many days I was in the hospital. Because he is just crying in front of me and I really don’t know what to do? Every time he just beat me up and later starts crying saying sorry. This time also he did the same and promised it will not happen again and I will treat you good. But this is something he keeps doing always. Because of him I got a brain haemorrhage,” she told the portal.
Who was Poonam Panday?
Poonam is known for creating controversies with her bold statements. She made her biggest controversial statement in 2011 when she pledged to strip off if Team India brings home the Cricket World Cup. India won the world cup that year, but Poonam said she has to take her word back as the BCCI did not grant her the permission to strip naked.
