When it comes to the names of popular actresses in the South industry, names like Nayantara, Trisha and Samantha often grab the headlines. But do you know which actress in the South holds the record for winning the most Filmfare Awards? The actress’ name is Sai Pallavi.

Sai Pallavi entered the world of cinema through the Malayalam film Premam in 2015 and overtook the star actresses. The film was a coming-of-age romance written, directed and edited by Alphonse Puthren. It was produced by Anwar Rasheed and stars Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi in the key roles.

The film was made at a budget of Rs 4 crore. It was a major commercial success, grossing Rs 74.5 crore. The film had a 175-day theatrical run in Kerala and more than 300 days in Tamil Nadu.

After this huge success, Sai never looked back. Apart from her outstanding acting skills, Sai Pallavi has also won the hearts of fans with her makeup-free looks.

Sai Pallavi, who primarily works in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films, has received numerous accolades, including six Filmfare Awards South and two South Indian International Movie Awards. She was featured by Forbes magazine as one of India’s 30 under 30 in 2020.

Reports suggest that to date, Nayanthara has been nominated for the Filmfare Awards 14 times but has won the award only five times. On the other hand, actress Trisha has also won the Filmfare Award five times.

Pallavi has established herself as a top South Indian actress. She has received praise for her portrayals in the films Kali (2016), Middle-Class Abbayi (2017), Maari 2 (2018), Athiran (2019), the Netflix anthology film Paava Kadhaigal (2020), Love Story (2021), Shyam Singha Roy (2021) and Gargi (2022). Her performances in Love Story and Gargi garnered her a Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Telugu and Tamil. And Shyam Singha Roy and Virata Parvam gained her the Critics Award at the Filmfare Awards South.

Sai was last seen in the 2022 Tamil-language legal drama film Gargi. However, the actress is all set to make her Bollywood debut soon. According to reports, Pallavi will next portray Sita, opposite Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, in Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation of the Ramayana.
