Mrunal Thakur Says She Lost Films As Her Parents Didn't Want Her To Do Intimate Scenes: 'I'd Get Scared'
Mrunal Thakur said that she had to explain to her parents that kissing scenes are part of her job.

Mrunal Thakur, with every role she essays on screen, leaves an unforgettable impact on the audience. From Jersey to Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna, the actress immerses in the depth of the character like no one else and what unfolds later is a magical story on screen. However, there was a time when the actress rejected several films as the role required her to do intimate scenes. She shared that her parents weren’t comfortable with her doing intimate scenes and there was a point when she had to put her foot down and explain to her parents that she could not keep rejecting films.

“I was not really comfortable doing scenes which were intimate, like romantically,” Mrunal told iDiva. She shared that her parents disapproved of her doing intimate scenes and there came a point when she had to talk to them about it. She said, “I would just get scared, I’d just say no to a film, but how long could I say no? There was a point I had to sit down with my parents and tell them that ‘Papa, I cannot miss a part because sometimes it’s there, it’s not my choice.’” She also hinted that she wasn’t very comfortable with such scenes herself.

“As much as I wanted to do a film, I had to drop because there was a kissing scene involved. As an actor, you need to be ready because sometimes that’s the demand (of the scene). If you are not comfortable, you can tell, you can talk about it but I kept missing on films because of that,” she said.

Mrunal Thakur was last seen in Family Star with Vijay Deverakonda. Reflecting on the challenges while bringing her character Indu to life, Mrunal wrote in her recent Instagram post, “Every character I play on-screen leaves a mark on my heart. In order to do justice to Indu’s role, I need to be Indu and not just put on her shoes, but walk a mile in them. Bringing her to life was a little challenging at first but I slowly started to understand her and once I got a hang of it, there was no looking back…and I don’t think I want to let go of that just yet.” The actress concluded the note with a sweet message as she added, “Hope you enjoyed watching Indu as much as I enjoyed walking in her shoes.”

Meanwhile, Mrunal’s list of upcoming projects includes Pooja Meri Jaan, directed by Navjot Gulati and Vipasha Arvind. In the film, Mrunal will feature alongside Huma Qureshi and Vijay Raaz in key roles. Additionally, she also has several projects including Vishwambara, Baahubali: Before the Beginning, STR48, and more.
